Seray Kallon Miss Sierra Leone Utah 2020

Hello my name is Seray, I enjoy moonlight stroll on the beach, red roses by the armful and singing.

Just kidding! I’m not a fan of any of those things,(expect singing….praising my God). More seriously my kids and friends would describe me a easy going, good mom, love to pray, hard working, friendly, a peace maker, and love to help people. But can be very stubborn and Perseverance.

I live in Draper Utah, I’m a single mom of three beautiful girls, I’m currently not in school. But I’m planning to go back for a pastoral degree. I know and I believe God has called me to preach his words or good news, heal the sick, set the captives free, help the poor and heal the broken hearted in Jesus name.

I want to Pursuit Righteousness. I was born in Liberia but raise in Sierra Leone by a single mom. I have two siblings a brother and a sister I’m the middle child, I came to the United States as a refugee in 2005, so I can have a better life to help my family. I went to West high school,I have been on my own from since I was 16 years old.

I live in Utah for two years, moved to Chicago after high school, all I wanted was a family so I moved in with my kids dad’s family and live with them as my family.Sometimes things don’t turn out the way you expect but God always have a plan,Couple years later my kids dad changed and become very abusive and he started beating me up and mistreating me. So I had to leave him and moved back to Utah to start a new life with my kids.

I drove from Indianapolis with my kids to Utah, we live at the shelter called the road home, life was really bad but I had to stay positive and be prayerful and trusting in God. I remember when we first came and looked at was in the face get to the road home down town, the look on my daughters face. They were so sad ,they look at me and say mommy is this where we really going to stay, it was really bad but I didn’t have no other choice but I said to them yes. I can’t cry before them because I don’t want them to see me have a melt down because I was their only strength and hope. So I talk to them and make them understand what was going on in our life that moment in time. That same day we arrived in Utah, I had car accident I total my car but thanks be to God, we were all ok. I never cry in front of them, I was very happy around them. When I go to school and I’m all alone, that’s when I cry. But my kids even though they’re young but you’re very strong and wise kids. I’m so blessed to have as my beautiful daughters and my hero, they pray for me all the time.

We stay at the road home for a month and a half because we didn’t have no family or where to stay, but I’m thankful for the life experience,That makes me become a very strong, wise and responsible mother, God always show up when you need him or when you don’t expect it that moment of time in your life. God make a way, I had a job and a beautiful apartment. My life just begun I’m so excited to see what the future holes for my beautiful smart intelligent daughters and I. I want to use my story to change someone’s life, give them back their self-esteem. There’s always hope for the future.

Platform Title: Focusing on Kids - The fatherless

Our kids are the future leaders of our society as God is the father to the fatherless. Focusing on kids the fatherless is a platform design to help kids that are fatherless ranging from 0-18 years old in Sierra leone to build a better future. As a single mom with 3 kids living in America, I experience hardship in providing basic needs as well as creating a way for them to have a great future. Sierra Leone is one of the poorest countries in Africa with limited opportunities making it difficult for single moms/windows to provide the general well-being for their families. So Focusing on kids -The fatherless aims to give love, encourage them to put their hope in God,security, and motivation to help these kids have a bright future.
I choose this platform because there are many kids in Sierra Leone that drop out of school at a young age because their single moms could not afford to take care of them. These kids sometimes miss their opportunities and ended up with bad situations, for example, the girls marrying early or getting pregnant at an early age and boys ended up in jail. I have a passion to always give a unique and meaningful gift that will bring joy and change lives, I want to instill these kids with the right to education, reduce child labor, and health promotion so they can build a better future. I plan to connect with Oak charity, SOS children village and other communities so we can collaborate to create a bright future for children through the process of education and empowering a new generation with independence and choice.
I also plan to organize four fundraising events in four quarters to raise funds to keep my platform running.
I starting school in the fall of 2020 to study ministry and leadership to help me accomplish my goals and plans.
